I think it is just plain psychology or human nature that doesn’t allow many of us to follow through on the work that we’ve begun. I mean have you ever thought of that great idea and then sat down in a Movie theater and seen the same thing.

Now how did that professional Hollywood writer get one step ahead of your career., Ok, so you can’t use that one., but don’t let them get you on the next one. You need to take steps towards documenting and completing the ideas that you have.

Oh, you don’t have the time. I know, family, friends, ect..are all things that get in the way of your writing. One solution that has worked for me is to find a partner who you can share the work load with. That partner ideally would have compatible interests to the films and movies that you also like. Or, you may want to find a writing mate that thinks differently from you, so that you get stronger reaction to the ideas that you come up with and wind up creating more powerful writing ideas.

The concept works! not to mention the increased likely hood that your writingmate will force you to stick to a schedule and actually forge the roadmap towards project completion. You need to finish. That way, you can submit your writing to competitions or agents to reach out there and take a shot at the big screen.

I would encourage you to get active in screenwriting communities and I’ve actually worked to develop an online social network and collaborative screenwriting site called writingmate.com for just this purpose. Take a few minutes to browse through many articles related to the screenwriting as well as set up a profile totally free and network with the other users and members.

Writing shouldn’t be a chore, so utilize your resources and become more productive in achieving your dreams. If you have any questions, my profile is on writingmate and I always respond to me e-mails and messages.

Best luck on your next big idea!
