Where Can I Find A Good Guide On How To Write A Screenplay?

This is my pet project. I want to write a screenplay and make a film. I have the ideas, but I don’t know the best formula for putting onto paper.

Here is the website that I used to learn how to write a screenplay. It is a great site for beginners. http://www.screenwriting.info/
Also, it is best to use screenwriting software, not paper and a pencil, or just a normal text apllication like Microsoft Word. Here is the one I use: http://www.celtx.com/
It is free and very useful.
Also, it is a good idea to read some scrrenplays before writing your own. You should be able to find some free ones by searching on google or some other search engine.
Good luck!

I looked at this site for a couple of titles for you to find at the library (where you can also simply look for screenplays to study)…
one is “The Writer’s Guide to Writing Your Screeplay: How to Write Great Screenplays for Movies and TV” by Cynthia Whitcomb, which you can buy there, new and used copies (they have 29) priced from $11.95.
Another author of such helpful-type books was mentioned fairly frequently on that site, so you might just want to look for a book
by Syd Field.
Good luck–
There’s this book that Ally Carter recommended to us… I think it was… “Screenplay” By Syd Field.
