Some families like to play cards, while others like to travel together. But if your family likes to sit down in front of the TV and watch movies, perhaps it’s time to explore this shared activity in a deeper way. With movie library software, you can easily cater to everyone’s needs from movies, while also helping to encourage movie enthusiasts, while also sharing the movies you love – and expanding your own movie tastes. Watching movies can bring families together and it can also help to spark important conversations, while also helping to learn more about the inner workings of your closest loved ones.

Why Do You Like to Watch Movies?

The thing with movie library software is that it doesn’t necessary require that you are a film buff or someone who can name every movie produced by certain directors. Some people just like to watch movies for the entertainment value – nothing more and nothing less. Of course, there are some families who like to watch movies for education, for discussion, or for simply watching certain actors develop in their careers. If you are looking to amass a movie collection, it might be a good idea to determine why you watch movies and thus then you can buy movies which fit into your larger goal – and thus have a more fulfilling movie watching experience with others. Of course, you might have a family in which everyone watches movies for different reasons – that’s okay too. In fact, the more different interests you have, the better for the well-roundedness of your movie experiences.

How Movie Library Software Can Help You

When you take the time to look into movie library software, you will be able to catalog the movies you already own. This will allow you to see what movies you already own, what you already like, and how the family’s movie tastes mesh – or don’t. You can look at the movies you enjoy and start to point out movies you think others in the family might like, based on their tastes. This will encourage movie sharing a recommendations, which will encourage more movie nights – and possibly new commonalities in terms of movie tastes. For example, if you encourage your mother to watch documentaries that you enjoy, she might become interested in watching more with you, increasing the depth of your conversations with each other – and even your relationship as a whole.

In addition, with movie library software, you will be able to see just how people in your family change over the years, even if you don’t see them often. Cousins can share movie lists with other cousins with this movie software. And the more you do this, the more you will be able to expand your movie enjoyment – even across many miles and continents.

Creating connections through movies is just one of the many goals of movie directors and screenwriters. Sure, you might be entertained, but you will also be connected through the stories of the characters in the movies – and this can help you relate to others in your family. After all, we all have the same stories – the movies just make them look and sound better than they might in ‘real’ life.

Film schools are in the business of creating people who will become a part of the film industry in some way. Whether the students at the film school become screenwriters, actors, directions, or crew members, watching movies is key to their success. With movie management software, film schools will be able to stay organized, even in the midst of thousands of movies and other programs which will be a part of the curriculum. When you’re trying to train the next Coppola or Scorsese, you need to make sure you’re on top of your DVDs and film reels – and this takes additional behind the scenes help with movie management software.

Keeping the Movies for Classes in Stock is Simpler

Since classes in film school will require that students watch films and discuss them together, movie management software can come in handy to make sure these films are always on hand. By checking with the film library ahead of time by browsing an online catalog, teachers can ensure that the film they need will be available when they need it. With this sort of system, classes can continue as planned, helping to ensure that schedules are followed and students are taught without interruption. In larger film schools with more classes, this sort of system is indispensable.

Lending Movies to Students Becomes Easier

Of course, a film school that is able to loan films to its students is also going to benefit the students and their studies. With the movie management software, the students can easily check to see what movies are available or when new movies will be available. It will also help teachers to see whether students are being proactive in their learning as this system will also be accessible to them as well. Seeing that a student has been borrowing a certain director’s films will also help a teacher perhaps suggest other films for them to look at as well in their independent study.

Updating the Collection Regularly is Necessary

In order for a film school to be up to par in terms of how it informs its students about film trends, the school needs to constantly add new films. By having movie management software, the school will instantly see what gaps are in the movie collection and can then create orders based on these missing DVDs or film reels. Updating the movie library on a regular basis also ensure that students are able to see the latest in film techniques after movies are done showing at the theaters. Not only should the latest films be added, but also the older films which are only recently being put onto DVDs to be viewed by those not alive when the films themselves were made.

With the right movie management software, a film school can keep itself on the cutting edge of movie techniques, genres, and trends. In doing so, they can provide the students with as many tools as possible with which to craft their own style and their own path to success.

In the early days of the personal computer, we’re talking the mid-’80s here, there was speculation that someday books would all be writen by computers. It sounded a little too science-fictiony for most writers. After all, words on a page—no matter how well they appear to work together—are meaningless without the insights and experiences of the writer behind them. At this point in time, I’m happy to report, computers are not writing all our books for us.However, writing software has progressed far beyond the basic word processing abilities of Word and Word Perfect.Today, we have a wide variety of story development software. Most can be used to write novels or screenplays, even television scripts or stage plays. Programs such as Truby’s Blockbuster or Dramatica Pro teach their own unique approach to story development. Other programs, such as Power Structure, StoryBase, and StoryWeaver provide prompts for help with character, structure, and theme. They do not write the story for us.But they are coming closer. Dramatica Pro, for instance, uses what it refers to as a story engine, that reveals relationships of deep structure independent of subject and content. It takes you by the hand and shows you what character, plot and theme issues you need to address. And finally, it weaves all your plot points together for maximum Dramatica Pro impact. Truby’s Blockbuster helps you find the best story form for your genre work, helps you develop the 7 keys that provide the nucleus for your story, and then lays out the 22 steps of story development to carry your plot from start to finish.I’ve used most of these programs at one time or another. While I believe Dramatica Pro has great potential and a unique take on story development, it also has a steep learning curve. Personally, I turn to writing software to save time. If it drains my time to learn how to use it properly, then it defeats its purpose.Truby’s Blockbuster, on the other hand, quickly gets me to the heart of my story and has me putting the pieces together in a relatively short time. I don’t use it for all my projects, but find it most helpful for the bigger books. Could I write without the use of software?Of course.Would my stories be better for it?Probably no better. Probably no worse. Then what’s the point? The point is this: story development software can serve both good and evil, depending on how you use it. If you rely too heavily on the software, then you defeat the purpose of being a writer, which is to bring your own take on the world into your work. Your stories will likely begin to all read alike, very cookie-cutter and pre-fabbed. You’ll be moving us another step closer to the day when computers will write our books for us. But if you use the software to organize your thoughts, to make the initial brainstorming process quicker and more efficient, without relying too heavily on each and every aspect of the software, then it can serve the good in your work. Much like the rules of grammar, the rules of struture and story development are there to guide you. Once you thoroughly understand how they work, you’re freer to break them. This is when you step forward as a writer, with your own voice, and your own creative approach to writing. If you’d like to check out some of these programs, here are some good places to get started:Novel-Writing Programs: http://thesuccessfulwriter.com/novelwritingsoftware/Screenwriting Programs: http://thesuccessfulwriter.com/screenwritingsoftware/Whether you decide to use story-development software or not—Steinbeck, Hemmingway, Faulkner and many others did just fine without them—always remember to bring yourself to your work. That’s the only true way you’ll ever be an original writer.

Filmmaking is costly, even more when you consider it as your hobby. People who are known to produce films in the olden times are considered as filthy rich. Nowadays with al the advances in technology, filmmaking has become changed. It’s easier for you to come up with your own film, even when you have less budget. This is even more emphasized with the emergence of independent filmmakers.

Filmmaking enthusiasts having limited resources now have a venue to express their craft. You can also find award-giving bodies that recognize those non-mainstream filmmakers.

A filmmaking software is one of the latest advancements that can be a great help to non-Hollywood but equally talented and skilled filmmakers. What’s even great is that this software can be accessed for free. All you need to do is to acquaint yourself with each one of them and still be able to find out which part or aspect of the filmmaking process it would fit in.The first filmmaking software you might want to get to know of being a filmmaker is the Celtx. This works just like the Final Draft software. It is a free, open-source screenwriting or pre-production tool. This would also let you mark up the script for production breakdown and others.

Cinepaint or what is formerly known as the FilmGimp is another tool. This is a paint program that was developed by and for film studios and intended for giving finishing touches to images of high resolution. This software has been used in several movies already and it has a new version called Glasgow that’s coming up.

Video Capturix 99 is another filmmaking software you can avail of. It is an easy to use video capturing program that allows you to capture simple movie footages from all types of video source, freeze, and save them as.BMP format or simply copy and paste them in clipboard for use in the future.

Adobe After Effects is also a great tool to use for creating high quality animation. You can enjoy sophisticated and expensive video-editing tasks in this software. The standard version of it can already provide you high-end 2D animations, composites, and advanced special effects meant for movies, broadcast video, multimedia presentations and even the web.

Movie Magic Scheduling is an industry standard in Hollywood for scheduling. This however comes with a strict copy protection. This is also true for the equivalent software in budget preparation which is called Movie Magic Budgeting. Now you are more familiar with some of the film production software choices that are available in the net. All you need to do is just figure out which ones you really need.

If you want to find out more about filmmaking software options, you can check them at the Filmmaking Mastery course.

Mind Mapping Software

Mind mapping software is designed to aid in the somewhat complicated process of mindmapping. A mind map is a diagram used to represent ideas, words, tasks, or other items that are linked to and arranged around a central key word, idea or concept. Mind maps are used to structure, classify, visualize and generate ideas, and serve as an aid in problem solving, decision making, organization, study, and writing. As you can imagine, creating such a diagram by hand can be overwhelming to the novice mind mapper.

The cost of high quality mind mapping software starts at about 0, and many mind mapping programs have a free trial option. Two of the most highly rated and popular mind mapping software programs are iMindMap and NovaMind. If you want to get started right away, one of these two will likely meet your needs.

Buzan’s iMindMap is designed by Tony Buzan who many consider the father of mind mapping. An obvious benefit of choosing iMindMap is that you are linked in to Buzan’s techniques and innovations. For those unfamiliar with the process, there is flash movie explaining the concept. There are also a number of flash video tutorials explaining how to use the software. There are three editions of iMindMap: Elements, Professional and Ultimate. The software is compatible with Microsoft Office and OpenOffice.

NovaMind is another excellent example of quality mind mapping software. While you don’t get the Tony Buzan stamp of approval, NovaMind does have some unique features not found in other programs. For instance, NovaMind is one of the only mind mapping software programs with a free layout mode where you can put branches anywhere you like. It also has rainbow coloring, an integrated branch suggestion system, and a special module for screenwriters. NovaMind also comes in three editions: Express, Pro, and Platinum.

The iMindMap and NovaMind mind mapping software both work on the Mac and Windows operating systems. You will find both systems workable and easy to use. The price structure is similar, so your choice will boil down to which features are more important to you as a user.

Before you purchase any mind mapping software, make sure that you first identify your needs. You should also consider your budget, and whether you can upgrade for a discount within the same family of programs. Once you’ve identified your needs you can start comparing the different mind mapping systems. Many programs come with a free trial which will greatly assist you in making an informed decision.

Most people who invest the time necessary to learn the mind mapping process become lifetime converts. Trying to accomplish the process on paper can be extremely frustrating and time-consuming. Good mind mapping software pays for itself very quickly in terms of saved time and frustration.
